The college kids are all coming home for the holidays (at least most of them.) The working young adults are trying to figure out plans for next weekend to visit families and friends, and pack in fun in a 72 hour time frame. Chaos has ensued in our household and even the dogs are excited by all the activity and humans.
The malls and stores are packed and tempers short already. Lots of impatient shoppers and drivers are out there, so take your time. Try to savor a little of the holiday spirit while it’s here. I took our 20 year old daughter out to look at the neighborhood lights last night and found the Christmas light extravaganza on Sherwood Forest Drive (how fitting). We drove slowly through the decorated houses and tried to find all the hidden surprises in the decorations. This was a small moment with my daughter that was just with the two of us, and I will store in my memories forever. We laughed and marveled at the lights, then received a robust greeting from Santa at the end wishing us a Merry Christmas!
